In the dark corners of the mysterious Forbidden West, seeds of rebellion are taking root amongst the Tenakth. This potential insurrection threatens the fragile peace between the Tenakth clans. Because of this, you and your fellow Marshals must uncover, investigate, and combat the rebellion before unnecessary blood is shed and the fate of the Clan Lands is changed for generations to come.
Along the way, you’ll explore the world, earning powerful equipment and undertaking dangerous quests, testing your skills against the deadly, ever-evolving machines. Will you rise against the odds together and unravel the untold mysteries of the Forbidden West? Or will you fall to spears, claws and the toxic blight?
Horizon Forbidden West: Seeds of Rebellion looks to build upon the acclaimed Horizon Zero Dawn board game engine to deliver a fully cooperative and narrative-driven tabletop experience for players to enjoy.
Working closely with Guerrilla Games’ Narrative team, Steamforged committed themselves to create an official story within Horizon’s canon, which is to take place before Aloy’s arrival in the Forbidden West, resulting technically in a prequel of the second instalment of the videogame series.
Steamforged is well known for their adaptations of video games into the board game realm and for their beautiful, detailed miniatures. So, it really goes without saying that we’re excited!
Horizon Forbidden West: Seeds of Rebellion will launch 21st November 2023 on Kickstarter and you can stay tuned for further developments, since Steamforged has promised weekly dev diaries from mid-October onwards!
