What's The Mission, You May Ask
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to crack a concealed 6-symbol combination placed strategically on the world map. The catch? You'll have to earn valuable intel points along the way. Use currency cards and special agent cards to your advantage, and be prepared for some intense negotiations with your fellow players. Are you trustworthy, or will you bluff your way to the top? It's time to find out!
How To Play
Now, let's break down the rules of 'Bridge of Spies.' This game is all about puzzle-solving with a dash of spy gadgets and flair. Here's a step-by-step guide:
- Start by unfolding the 'World Map' board.
- Shuffle the Operative Deck and place 6 cards face down on the designated line, each with Intel points beneath.
- Equip each player with a Spy Folder, Spy Chips, Reserve Tokens, and a starting hand of cards from the Starter Deck.
- Shuffle the 7 Agent Cards into the Currency Deck. Your mission is about to begin.
Each turn kicks off with a player drawing a card from the Currency Deck. The card's value determines the actions they can take, such as inspecting a card on the board, playing a spy chip, reserving sections of the board, or swapping cards around. Remember, each action requires a separate payment, so strategic planning is key.
Yes, There's A Secret Weapon
Agent cards are your secret weapon. Use their special abilities to turn the tide of the game – skip turns, perform multiple actions without cost, clear the board of chips and reserve tokens, or throw a wrench into another player's plans.
Once you've gathered enough intel, it's time to initiate a Mission Run. Your goal is to decode the code on the line, one card at a time and in the correct order. A correct guess earns you Intel Points, but get it wrong, and you pass the baton to the next player.
When you need assistance with identifying an operative card, it's time for some good old-fashioned negotiations. Strike deals with your fellow agents using points, cards, information, or promises of future help. Keep in mind, an agent always fulfills their part of the bargain before revealing their answer. Will you uphold your commitment or go rogue?
After a mission run, the game board resets. Operative cards on the line and the seventh card are shuffled back into place. Intel points are replenished as before, but any leftover Intel Point tokens from the mission run remain on the line, adding an extra layer of intrigue.
The game continues until either the Currency Deck runs out, or there are no more Intel Points to replenish the board after a final mission run. Players tally their points, including both currency cards and agent cards in hand, and the one with the highest point total emerges victorious!
