After months of speculation and hype the first details for Pandemic Legacy Season Two have been revealed by Z-Man Games. Not only that, but the highly-anticipated board game is now available to pre-order here at Zatu Games!
As we all know, Season One is one of the most popular games of all time and has been sitting pretty at the top of the Board Game Geek Top 100 chart since its release back in 2015. The game really introduced the world to the Legacy game concept, developed by Rob Daviau.
This concept meant that the game could only be played through once with the same group of people. Players would be writing on and ripping up cards, uncovering new rules and new surprises as they played their game.
Pandemic Legacy Season Two Story
Pandemic Legacy Season Two is set 71 years after the events of Season One and by the sounds of it the world has completely collapsed - despite all of your best efforts to cure the world of the epidemic in the first game.
Season Two's synopsis reads:
The world is on the brink of total collapse. Already devastated by a terrible plague, much of the globe has gone dark. Small groups of survivors struggle to keep the world alive, but their efforts are no longer enough. The world needs leaders to rise up and find the way back from the brink of extinction. That task has fallen to you. You must find a way or nobody will. You are humanity’s last chance."
If that doesn't get you excited to play this game then I don't know what will! The world as we know it has come to an end. Survivors of the disastrous events have settled on floating stations in the ocean, supplied by a group called the 'Havens.'
We now know that supplies are running low on these floating communities, most of whom have never stepped foot on the mainland, and it's now down to you and your friends to help them and prevent our race from extinction.

Playing the game
Just like in Season One, you and your team will have 12 months to save the world as we know it. You will set out in search of supplies, travelling by sea between different ports or on foot back on the mainland - there's no air travel in this game!
The City, Epidemic and Event Cards all make their return but you will no longer removing Disease Cubes from the board. Instead you will be adding Supply Cubes to help defeat the plague. You and your team will need to manage these cubes carefully if you are to help the cities to survive.
Drawing a city Infection Card will forces residents to use one of your Supple Cubes in order to fight-off the plague. If there are no Supple Cubes in a city when a City Card is drawn then it can no longer keep the plague at bay and it will become infected.
The most interesting news surrounding Season Two is about the game board. Most of the world has been wiped out and at the start of the game only a small portion of the world is visible. As you travel across the board, uncovering new discoveries and challenges, you will literally scratch-off the game board - a bit like a scratchcard.
This adds a whole new aspect to the Legacy format, to go alongside the destruction of your playing cards and rule book. The secret packages from the first game will also make a welcome return in Season Two, as once again your decisions and actions change the future of your game.

Pandemic Legacy Season Two is now available to pre-order on our online store. We have been granted a limited about of stock and as you can imagine, the demand for this game is going to be high so you're going to need to act fast in order to secure yourself a copy.
Just like with Season One, this second game has two different colour variants for you to choose from. You can go with the Black Edition, which features a group of soldiers, or the Yellow Edition which looks to have possible survivors or helpers on the cover.
Both colour variants have exactly the same contents and it's down to you which cover you like the look of the most. I personally like the yellow edition and the colour is quite vibrant and the characters look very cool.
