Warhammer Bulletin: Opposites Attract

WARHAMMER LOGO

Welcome to another Warhammer Bulletin, taking a look each week at what’s gone up for pre-order in the Warhammer universe. This week the big news is Orks and Adeptus Custodes, two factions who could not be more different but get the same job done all the same.

40K

Yes that's right, we have not one but two factions releasing codexes and box sets this week. Orks and Custodes (golden boys, custard creams, the list goes on…). The Custodes are the elite of the elite, warriors only second in power and martial skill to the Primarchs themselves. The Orks on the other hand grow from moss….and yet somehow are one of the most dangerous alien races in the galaxy. Their sheer ferocity, numbers and love of a fight means they can go toe to toe with basically anything you throw at them.

Codexes

Both Orks and Custodes have normal and collectors editions of the codexes available. The collectors editions really are stunning

Battleforce

The Orks charge into the fray with the Stompa Boys battleforce box, including the new Ork Big Mek, and a very large Stompa, as well as a veritable horde of other Orks.

The Custodes blaze brightly in their polished armour in the Auric Champions battleforce box, including the new Shield-Captain, wardens, terminators and the always cool lance bearing jetbikes.

Combat Patrols

One great addition to Warhammer 40k was the Combat Patrol game mode. If you’re anything like me, you like to dabble in different armies as models take your fancy. Combat Patrol boxes are a great way to do that as you can fight them against each other.

This week we have new combat patrol boxes for Orks and Custodes. The Custodes are all well and good, looking like they can take on anything, but I can’t not mention the Ork Squigs. Look at them, they are the best. One small one and four big ones, all looking like they are ready to eat anything in their path, enemy or Ork, they don’t care.

Dice and Datasheet cards

Accessories wise you can get the dice and datasheet cards for each army. Datasheet cards are always very useful for looking up rules quickly in games, and themed dice I find add to the feeling of the army you are playing.

Horus Heresy

Need to upgrade those Blood Angels to take the fight to Horus? Don’t worry, Warhammer has you covered with two additions. The Baal Predator Upgrade Pack contains some wicked assault cannons, guaranteed to chew through any heretic you come across. Then we have the Armoury of the Blood Angels pack, which is exactly what you need to make your Blood Angels look the part and really feel their bond to Sanguinius, I’m sure nothing bad could ever happen to him…

Black Library

Book time! This week we have the following releases:

Da Big Dakka (Special Edition Hardback)

The Dead Kingdom (Hardback)

Children of Teclis (Paperback)
