Tabletop Gaming Live 2020 Cancelled

Though it may not come as a surprise to many, it has now been officially announced that Tabletop Live 2020 will not be taking place.

As the event was to be held at the end of September, organisers were optimistic about it going ahead, but following the cancellation of UKGE, Gen Con, Tabletop Scotland and Essen Speil, it seemed increasingly inevitable that even September would be too soon to have a major event or gathering.

As published on their website:

“While we had been very optimistic about whether the show could take place this year, we have come to the conclusion that there is unlikely to be a substantial shift in government advice around the current lockdown, coronavirus safety and mass gatherings. We have, like nearly every other show in the gaming calendar, decided that in the interests of the health and safety of our visitors to cancel the event.”

They have also thanked those who have supported the event, especially those who have bought advance tickets, and have offered to carry these tickets over to the following year with new dates given for the 2021 event (Saturday 25^th and Sunday 26^th). A full refund can also be obtained if preferred.

This was to be Tabletop Live’s third year at Alexander Palace. Looks like we’ll just have to wait for next year for chapter three... absence makes the heart grow fonder…
