Sosig Review

SOSIG LOGO
SOSIG LOGO

Intro:

Sosig is a strategic, highly interactive tile placement game. The aim of the game is to score the most points by creating long sausages and completing orders and rewards whilst sabotaging your opponents. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Setup:

The Setup is really simple.

· Deal 1 reference card to each player.

· Separate the cards into 5 decks: Head, Body, Order, Award and Mystery Meat.

· Place the Order Goals deck in the centre of the table and reveal 2 cards face-up.

· Reveal an award goal and place it face up next to the two order cards. Discard the rest of the award cards into the box.

· The mystery meats deck goes next to the award card.

· Place the Sosig body deck underneath the order deck. Reveal 2 body cards face up.

· Place the head deck underneath the mystery meat deck and place one head card next to the other two body cards.

· You’re now ready to start making Sosigs!

SOSIG CARDS

Gameplay:

· Players will take it in turns to take either one head or body card from either the face-up display or the top of the deck and place it in their play areas to create Sosigs.

· Placed cards don’t need to continue an existing Sosig, as long as any side is touching another without being blocked.

· Sosig cards cannot be moved after being placed in the play area.

· If a completed Sosig meets an order goal card on your turn, you claim the card and replenish it. Multiple order goal cards may be claimed on a turn but you can’t claim two different order goal cards for one Sosig. Order card goals are based on the shape and length of the Sosigs that you create.

· Each game will play with 1 of the 9 award goals. This provides players with an overall goal to aim towards for end game scoring. Anyone that fails to meet the minimum requirement of this card will lose points in end game scoring.

· Mystery meat cards are claimed when two Sosig cards meet together and form the Mystery spinner icon or by claiming a Shape Order Goal card with the mystery meat symbol at the bottom of it. Mystery meat cards help you to sabotage the gameplay of other players or may give you extra points towards end game scoring.

· The Sosig head and body cards score 1 point by default but they fall into four different categories which may also benefit you in end game scoring: The player with the most green Meaty Sosigs in their play area scored +4 points and the second player with the most gains +2, Pastry cards cannot have a burn or chomp card attached to them, Saucy Sosig cards enable you to take another turn if they join onto another saucy Sosig in your play area. Spicy Sosig cards gain you +1 point on Sosigs with 2 or more Spicy cards.

End Game and Scoring

· The end game condition triggers when either the body or head stack of cards has been depleted.

· Players then go into game scoring.

· Discard single cards or Sosigs without any heads.

· Count 1 point for each Sosig card (except burn and chomp cards) Then add any extra points for Spicy and Meaty Sosig cards.

· -2 points for each Sosig with 1 Head or Chomped.

· Add the combined score of the Order Goals you have completed.

· Add or deduct any points for the Award Goal.

· After adding together all the points, the player with the most points is the Top Sosig Chef and is the ‘Wiener!’
