5 Video Games Where You’re The Bad Guy

Video Games Where You're The Bad Guy Star Wars Squadrons

It’s all well and good being a hero and saving the day. But sometimes it’s good to be bad. Let’s face it, it’s a lot more fun doing bad things in videogames, especially without real world repercussions looming over you. So without further ado, let’s look at just some of the games that let you unleash your inner villain and cause some chaos. Video games where you're the bad guy!

5. Star Wars Squadrons - The Empire

There aren’t many villains more iconic than the Empire from Star Wars. Memorable characters, great weapons (it’s not the weapons fault stormtroopers can’t aim) and amazing vehicles and ships. Star Wars Squadrons allows you to jump into the cockpit of said ships and destroy some rebel scum. It’s everything you want it to be, from the iconic sounds of a TIE fighter to the glorious explosions of a fallen capital ship. And most importantly, Star Destroyers are as imposing as ever.

4. Pokemon - The Main Character

It doesn’t matter what version of Pokemon you’re playing. Whether it’s the GameBoy originals, the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, or Pokemon Legends: Arceus - you are the bad guy. You literally wander around enslaving a variety of colourful creatures and force them to fight for your glory and fame. And I don’t want to hear that it’s all research and you’re filling up a Pokedeck in the name of science either! You don’t see Sir David Attenborough caging everything in sight do you?!

3. Destroy All Humans! - Crypto

Crypto has a important and noble mission - head to Earth and harvest DNA from humans in order to ensure the survival of his own race. But just because the survival of his race is on the line doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy himself while carrying out his quest. He is outfitted with an insane array of weapons in order to cause absolute chaos. You’ll burn, disintegrate and probe you’re way to success. And while you’re at it you can even blow up buildings... all in the name of salvation.

2. Grand Theft Auto V - Trevor

There’s no denying that all three protagonists in GTAV are all morally bankrupt. There’s some sympathy for Michael and Franklin as you understand their struggles and failings. But the third character - Trevor Phillips - is beyond redemption. He’s a psychotic maniac who personifies the GTA playerbases most twisted playstyle. You know, the one that has enough of missions, does a quicksave and then bangs out a massacre before dinner. But there’s no reverting to a previous save for Trevor his player arc is hyper-violent and he’s okay with the consequences.

1. Untitled Goose Game - The Goose

Untitled Goose Game is definitely one of the best villains in a video game. Your job is simple - steal items and wreak havoc on the inhabitants of a nearby village. And why must you do this? For pure sadistic pleasure... just like a real goose.

Thoughts?

So, how does my list of video games where you're the bad guy compare to yours? Have I missed a particularly evil character who should be on the list? Let us know on the Zatu social media channels.
