Fantagraphics is proud to re-present Krazy Kat to a new generation of readers entering the new millennium. Each volume in the upcoming series will reprint two years of Herriman’s Sunday Strips, with this debut volume including what many consider to be his prime work: the strips from 1925 to 1926. Named the greatest example of the comic artform by The Comics Journal in 1999, Krazy Kat’s simple structure allowed Herriman to build entire worlds of meaning into the strip, leading critics such as Gilbert Seldes and e.e. cummings to recognise his genius immediately.
