The game comes with a range of components, including six vividly coloured racing cars, a deck of cards featuring power rules that can augment gameplay, bidding sheets, and speed cards depicting various race car colours with numbers ranging from 1 to 6. The components are well-crafted, from the detailed mini plastic cars to the clear and easily readable cards, enhancing the overall gaming experience.

Gameplay

Downforce revolves around strategic bidding on the outcome of the race. The gameplay unfolds through several phases:

Initial Setup Race cars are randomly placed on the starting line, and speed cards are distributed among players.

Bidding Phase: players bid on race cars based on their colour and a randomly drawn power card. Using their speed cards as betting tools, players secretly select a card corresponding to the desired race car and reveal their bids simultaneously. The highest bidder secures the race car and associated power card. Players can only win a maximum of three race cars, adding a layer of strategic decision-making.

Racing Phase: once all cars are auctioned, players choose a power card (if applicable) and the race begins. Players utilize their hand of cards to influence car movement. Speed cards dictate the order of movement, with power cards introducing twists and strategic opportunities.

Betting Rounds: throughout the race, players can place bets on the outcome at designated points on the track, adding an extra layer of excitement and strategy.
