Description
The Timeline series of games feature educational trivia, presented in a fun, push-your-luck package. Timeline is a card game by designer Frédéric Henry, and published by Asmodee. The aim is simple – can you get rid of your cards into the communal timeline, first? This version has a strong theme of testing your knowledge of London’s famous Science Museum! Up to 8 players can take part.
Every player gets dealt a hand of cards, and a single card starts by gets placed on the table. On one side of these cards is a historic event of some kind. It could be Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity. Ot it could be the Wright Brothers’ first powered and sustained flight in an aircraft. On the reverse is the date of said occurrence…
The first player kicks off the challenge. They have to pick one of their cards and place it either side of that starter card. Thinking in a chronological sense, do they think it occurred before, or after that event? They then reveal to see if they were correct. Got it right? The card stays in place, in among the timeline. Got it wrong? The card gets discarded, and that player has to take another card. As the game progresses, the timeline stretches out. The gaps between the dates get tighter and tighter. And the judgement calls get tougher and tougher!
The winner is the first player to get rid of all their cards. There could be a tie-break scenario if more than one player manages this feat on the same turn. In that case, all other players get eliminated and it goes down to a ‘sudden death’ bonus round.
Timeline: Science Museum shares mechanisms with other games within the Timeline series. Nevertheless, you can combine Timeline: Science Museum with any other title in the Timeline series for a bumper game! This blister pack comes with 110 cards.
