Description

Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) is a collectible card game for two players, based on the Pokémon anime (and video game) franchise. Players can collect cards representing their favourite Pokémon, from throughout the franchise's history, build a team and battle it out. Originally published by Wizards of the Coast in 1996, it is (since 2003) now published by The Pokémon Company. over 30 billion cards have been sold worldwide since the games initial release.

To play the game you will require a 60-card deck, either pre-constructed, or customised, from your personal card collection. You will also need some way to track damage and conditions.

The Sun and Moon expansion contains 163 and was originally released in 2017. It features Generation VII Pokémon, including 11 new GX versions. Sun and Moon is the first expansion to feature GX Pokémon. GX versions include: Decidueye, Lurantis, Incineroar, Lapras, Primanrina, Espeon, Lunala, Umbreon, Solgaleo, Taurus and Gumshoos.

This blister booster product is a supplementary product that contains two 10-card, semi-randomised booster packs from the Sun and Moon expansion. It also contains a collectible flip coin (design may vary), and three foil promo cards featuring Entei, Raikou, and Suicune.

Each Booster pack also contains a code card, for Pokémon TCG Online. Each code will enable the player to obtain a virtual booster pack, to supplement their online collection.

Blister Header

It’s almost always a good idea to pick up Pokemon Enhanced Blister packs, and this one is no exception. The Pokemon Enhanced Blister features 3 fun-to-play cards as the legendary dogs, and two packs on top. It’s a fantastic buy!

The promo cards are all fun little deck building parts. Reprints of Sun and Moon-era Legendary Dogs are on the table. Entei (Ancient Origins #14), Raikou (BREAKthrough #55) and Suicune (BREAKpoint #30) are all good for casual play. These cards feature the fantastic Cosmos Holofoil card art, too! This is only available in bonus packs. The cards are no longer allowed in standard play though, so don’t try using them at the local tournament.

Your Chances Are…

The packs you can get pull from the recently released sets at time of release. This will be one pack of Guardians Rising, and one of either Sun & Moon, Steam Siege or XY Evolutions.

First up, the only guaranteed pack in the Pokemon Enhanced Blister. Guardians Rising was the second released set in Sun and Moon, and still packs a lot of power! Expanded players will love the power offered by the incredible trainer cards in this set. Hala, Choice Band, Aqua Patch and Max Potion were all mainstays in standard until the set was rotated out of the format. Collector will love cards like the Secret Rare energies and the full art Sylveon GX!

GR SRs

Let’s take a step back and look at the original Sun and Moon set. The big card for players here, in my opinion, is Skarmory (SM #88). This metal bird ruins people’s day in expanded with the amount of special energies there are! Collectors will be looking for the chance to get great cards like Lillie, Umbreon and Rotom Dex!

Xs and Ys

The penultimate set is Steam Siege. Taking us back to the BREAK Era of the XY TCG, this set has been out of rotation for a good while but contains some fantastic cards. Special Charge, Ninja Boy and Galvantula are the target cards here for some fantastic deckbuilding opportunities.

And finally, the big set in the Pokemon Enhanced Blister. XY Evolutions is still one of the best sets ever printed. Based on the original Base Set of the Pokemon TCG, and loved by collectors and players alike, this is a fantastic pack. The absolute jackpot in this blister pack, and every single pack will have something great.

General SRs

There’s also a collectible, tournament legal coin, which could be either Zoroark or Shaymin! For collectors this is a great addition.

All in all, the Pokemon Enhanced Blister is a great little pack consisting sets that are difficult to find now. The promotional cards are a great bonus for casual players and some of the best cards are still used in expanded.
