Magic the Gathering (MtG) is a collectable card game for 2 or more players. Each game represents a battle between powerful wizards, known as Planeswalkers, who have the ability to travel the multiverse.
Players will cast spells, summon creatures, and deploy artifacts to overcome their opponents. Typically, a player will win by reducing their opponents starting life points to zero, but there are other paths to victory.
To play the game, each player will need a deck of at least 60 cards. Players may use pre-constructed decks or customised decks created from their personal card collection.
Modern Horizons is a booster expansion for Magic the Gathering (MtG), released on 14 June 2019. The set is designed to be drafted. It is comprised of 254 cards, including: 101 Commons, 80 Uncommons, 53 Rares, 15 Mythic Rares and 3 Snow-Covered Basic Lands.
It is the first expansion to introduce cards into the Modern format, without them being legal in Standard. 45 of the cards are reprinted from earlier sets and have never before been legal for Modern play. Due to the number of returning game play mechanics, Modern Horizons is not considered an entry level product.
This product contains one 15-card booster pack. Booster packs are the staple MtG product for players and collections. Each booster pack contains 15 randomised cards plus a double sided token and an art card. Each Modern Horizons booster pack will typically contain ten common cards, three uncommon cards and a rare card. In some instances the rare card will be replaced with a mythic rare card.
