Description
Set on the lawless moors of Somerset and Devon during the turbulent reigns of James II and Charles II, farmer’s son John Ridd cuts short his schooling after the murder of his father by the infamous Doone clan and returns to the family homestead.
Despite distant links to nobility, the Doones are a ruthless band of outlaws, ruling the roost in the rugged and treacherous Doone Valley. The family’s evil streak is personified by the clan’s heir, ‘hot and savage’ Carver Doone, who is destined to marry cousin Lorna. But when Lorna embarks on a secret affair with honest John, it sets off a tumultuous trail of intense jealousy, violent revenge and conflicting claims of birthright.
Starring Emily Richard (Empire of the Sun) as Lorna Doorne, John Sommerville (Great Expectations – the Untold Story) as John Ridd and John Turner (Merlin) as Carver Doone.
A passionate, captivating chronicle of a perilous time and place.
