Petrichor: Flowers Expansion
Petrichor: Flowers adds a number of developments to the base game of Petrichor.
These include another set of player tokens in white/clear to allow the base game to be played with up to five players. There are also rules set out for voting and the harvest in a five player game.
The game also adds three modules – Flower Tiles, Player Powers and Forecase Cards which can be combined with the base game. The Flower Tiles are a new set of crops which can be harvested during the same. These include the snowdrop which only blooms after the front, the dandelion which blows its pods to different tiles and the primrose which awards points for each bloom token on the tile. The tiles add an extra level of interactivity to Petrichor.
Player powers add an asymmetric element to the base game. These are based on an affinity to one of the four types of weather or the harvest. The player powers mix up the game by giving players an avenue to focus on, making one action extra powerful for them. The player has the same power throughout the course of the game and the power can be used any number of times.
The Forecast cards add an extra level of planning into the base game. These cards will tell you when they can be played – either as your turn or at a specific time during a round. Players are dealt three forecast cards at the start of the game but can only play two of them. The cards are immediately discarded on use. The Forecast cards include events which allow you to add one of your votes to any weather or create a new light cloud with three drops in on an empty space of the board.
You must have the base game of Petrichor in order to play this expansion.
Players: 1 – 5
Time: 20 – 100 minutes
