Description
The most extraordinary of seasons ended in the best way possible, with victory at Wembley in the Championship Play-Off-Final firing the Whites back to the Premier League at the expense of our local rivals.
Joe Bryan was the unlikely hero with two sumptuous goals, but nothing about the Final was normal. No White Wall to roar the lads on, but Brentford still felt our FULFORCE as Scott Parker’s men took the game to their opponents.
Chances came and went, but in extra-time Fulham’s left-back twice found the back of the net and, despite a very late reply, an immediate return to the big time had been sealed.
Relief was mixed with pure joy on the faces of the privileged few inside the national stadium, and the celebrations amongst the supporters watching and listening on were loud and proud for a team who’d done it the hard way once again, but also the best way.
