Zombicide Dark Side Preview

If players were to name zombie games within the board gaming hobby, you can be assured Zombicide would be mentioned 100% of the time. The game has been through various iterations, travelling back in time to medieval, zombie-ridden streets and has recently blasted off to the stars with Zombicide Invader. Following on this Sci-fi theme is Zombicide Dark Side, a standalone core box that shares the theme of Invader, with core components as well as some additional aspects that are not found in Invader.

This game, while serving as a standalone entry point into the sci-fi universe, also becomes an expansion to Invader, being fully compatible with the game, adding a heap of new content.

Welcome to the Dark Side

Dark Side (featuring artwork from Henning Ludvigsen) focuses on the Green Squade, a group of soldiers based in the underground mining facilities of PK-L7. They must face an onslaught of Xenos, coming face to face with a new breed- Drillers! These new monsters use the element of surprise to attack the Survivors, using and benefiting from the pits that the Driller Abominaton digs up.

The environment is also against the Survivors, with the darkness hampering any ranged combat advantage the Survivors may have had. They must use flashlights to navigate the winding tunnels but be warned; batteries are limited! Run out, and you may just find yourself thrown into darkness with little chance of escape!

This adds a great variety to the Invader base game. However, it also offers newbies to the series a nice starter platform.
