Western Legends – A Fistful Of Extras Expansion Review

A-Fistful-Of-Extras

My Thoughts

Already love being a cowboy? But beaten the bandit’s fought the sheriff and robbed the bank? And now want something more, then Fistful of extras might just be what you’re looking for.

I will start this review saying that Western legends is a fantastic game. If your reading this you either know that and want a little extra, or your like me and want everything all at once. This expansion adds some new and interesting characters. Changing up the game giving new special abilities and starting items/locations. We also have new weapon cards, mount cards, bandit cards, item cards, poker cards and story cards. As well as some extra miniatures. (Which can be used as the new bandits). If you’re anything like me I use whichever mini I want regardless of which character I’m using, so these just add more characters to play.

Everything added here doesn’t change the game drastically it just adds more of what’s so great about the game already. It adds more variability, the biggest change here is the bandit cards which add a different take on bandit combat. This comes with stickers to add to the bottom of the bases of the six bandits, and now when encountering a bandit you flip a card. Depending on the number on the base of the bandit different results might occur,. Anywhere from if you lose this fight lose 30 dollars to the person who defeated this bandit gains one Legendary point (victory points). I have found that this adds much more of a reason to fight the bandits because of that gamble. Meaning maybe getting a little extra or lose a little something, nothing too drastic.

I would say that this small expansion packs a punch it adds interesting new characters like Pearl Hart and Alan Pinkerton. In addition to more miniatures which are the same quality as the others and much more replayabilty. This is a must have for a Western legend fan as it fits so well and makes the sandbox game even more interesting.
