Ticket To Ride Germany: Returning to its Roots

Days of Wonder have made a huge announcement which will see them take the Ticket to Ride franchise back to its roots by releasing a new stand-alone addition to the hugely popular series, Ticket to Ride Germany!

Using the route network previously seen in the Ticket to Ride: Märklin edition, players will build their own rail network across a beautiful artistic map of Germany, based at the end of the 19th Century.

Ticket to Ride Germany will include extra tickets and the passenger tokens seen in the Deutschland 1902 expansion for Zug um Zug: Deutschland. Competitors need to watch out for their opponents who might be trying to reach the same corners of the prominent country and outwit them by collecting valuable Passenger Meeples from the cities faster than they can.

Excitingly, there is rumour of a new and exclusive passenger rule which could be an interesting component to the franchise. Excited yet? Check out the teaser synopsis from the official Days of Wonder website:

"Turn of the century Germany… Through a fine autumn rain, a plume of smoke announces the arrival of the 4:15 train from Nuremberg in the Munich Central Station. The din of the massive engine grows more intense, culminating with a prolonged hiss as the locomotive halts at the platform, steam erupting in every direction. Already, porters in livery are rushing to unload baggage as passengers step from their cars. On the opposite platform, an operator pulls the cord for a three-chime whistle and another train begins chugging toward its next destination: Berlin, capital of the German empire…"

Ticket to Ride: Germany will be released here in the UK in JUNE 2017 and will for the US will be debuted at GEN CON 2017.
