This month we are bringing you our top 2 new releases. If you couldn't already tell, today we'll be talking about the latest Resident Evil and Mandala Stones. This episode also includes a Q&A session with Amber and Arthur as we find out their favourite and least favourite games, and they answer the age old question, is a Jaffa Cake a cake or a biscuit? Here we go!
Resident Evil Village
As usual, this version of Resident Evil is available on any and all consoles (Minus vintage rogues like Atari 5200 or Sega Mega Drive). The story takes place 3 years after the events in Resident Evil 7 and we follow Ethan as he survives his way through horrorful lands, this time he's gone to a spooky village in Europe. The streets of the village are lined with snow and the taste of impending danger. The inhabitants are grey-faced and unnerving.
In this game Ethan's got, not only himself but his wife and 6-month-old baby to protect. He must survive a deliciously deplorable selection of characters from a magnetic manipulator, an eerie entity, and a malodorous merman.
Resident Evil Village ends with an unexpected twist and this brings added excitement to an already great game. This will be a good choice for fans of Last of Us as it has the same creepy vibes.
Mandala Stones
Fan of Mandala? Oooh boy, you're going to love this one. The aim of the game in Mandala to collect the most victory points while simultaneously forming a beautiful piece of art with patterned cardboard tiles. If you thought the cardboard tiles were good, the pretty plastic discs in Mandala Stones are going to blow an already brilliant game out of the water.
While there are many creators that make up a game of Mandala there can only be one winner. There's a choice that needs to be made every round and craftiness is needed to pick the right one. You may have an eye for art, but can you decide when to fold at the right time? You may have an analytical machine of a mind, but can you make something beautiful? Both attributes are needs for a belter game of Mandala Stones.
