PS4 Games to watch in 2017

PS4-Games

The new year has arrived! Plenty of food has been eaten, loads of presents have been played with and resolutions have been made. Most important of all however is the fact that a new year means brand new PS4 games to look look forward to.

2017 is set to be a huge year for Sony's console as they look to hold-off the impending challenge from Microsoft's Project Scorpio and Nintendo's Switch machine. Sony have already confirmed that their main priority this year is the PlayStation Pro.

With this in mind, here's just a few of the top PS4 Games that you should keep an eye on this year.

Crash Bandicoot Remastered

Everyone's favourite video game character is coming back to life!! I, along with thousands of other gamers now in their 20s, spent countless hours playing the original Crash Bandicoot games on the PlayStation 1.

After years of pleading from fans, Sony have finally responded and the first three Crash games are getting remastered. This new game will include Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back and Warped - in stunning 4K graphics!

The remastered games, also known as the N. Sane Trilogy, will have the same gameplay as the originals but with a few new features included. These new features include unified checkpoints, pause menus and save systems - including manual and automatic saving.

Gran Turismo Sport

The highly-anticipated game from 2016 which was sadly delayed during the summer. Gran Turismo Sport is seen as the first in a new generation of Gran Turismo games - leaving the previous six games behind in the first generation.

As with all Gran Turismo games you can expect stunning graphics, amazing cars and beautiful tracks from around the world. GT Sport will features around 140 road vehicles including the Ferrari LaFerrari, Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S and the Ford Mustang Fastback.

Race Cars will also be included, such as the Audi R8 LMS, McLaren 650S GT3 and the Toyota FT-1 Vision! The Vision Gran Turismo concept also returns, which allows car manufacturers to design their fantasy machines and bring them to life within the game.

Sport mode is where this title comes into its own. This sees players from around the world taking part in two FIA-certified championships - the Nations Cup and the Manufacturer Fan Cup. Both series will be acknowledged in the annual FIA prize-giving ceremony - alongside real racing stars. Both series can also be watched via Gran Turismo Sport Live - hosted each weekend in real -TV-like formats.

Tekken 7

The ninth installment in the long-running fighting series and the first to use the Unreal Engine! Tekken 7 brings two new mechanisms to the series - Rage Art and Power Crush. Rage Art will allow you to execute critical attacks, giving 30% damage, in exchange for inactivating the normal attack power increase.

Power Crush will allow you to continue your attacks even when you are being attacked by your rival, however this does not prevent you from taking damage. Movement has also been touched up and is now similar to that found in Tekken Revolution.

Katsuhiro Harsda, the game's producer, has said that the story in Tekken 7 will be much darker and will serve as a conclusion to the Mishima clan saga. Street Fighter's Akuma will feature in the story mode and it is said that he will play a vital role.

PS4 Games - Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2

Its been seven years since the original Red Dead Redemption was released on PS3 and Xbox 360..... seven long years!!! After months of little teasers, Rockstar Games finally unveiled their plans for the sequel last October.

Little is known about the game as of yet, just that it will be released at some point during the winter months. PS4 users can also expect timed exclusives thanks to an agreement between Rockstar Games and Sony.

We are sure that game is going to be a huge hit once it is released. Keep an eye out on the Zatu blog in the coming months for all the latest Red Dead Redemption 2 news.

God of War

Another classic PlayStation series making its comeback in 2017. God of War is a soft reboot of the popular series and will take the franchise into the world of Norse Mythology - rather than the usual Greek Mythology settings.

Kratos will return as the main character once again but this time he is also joined by his son - who he must mentor and protect in the world of Norse Gods and monsters. Kratos needs to master his rage, make amends for his past and teach his son everything that he knows.

God of War's gameplay has been completely rebuilt for this reboot. Kratos no longer uses his signature double-chained blades - as these were lost at the conclusion of God of War III. He now has a magical battle axe which can be fused with elemental abilities and thrown at his enemies.

It has also been confirmed that both Kratos and his son will be playable characters in the game.

Other PS4 Games coming soon

These are just a few of the many great PS4 games expected to be released in 2017. Here are a few more that you might want to keep an eye on in the coming months:

Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Mass Effect:Andromeda, Need For Speed 2, Spiderman and Detroit: Become Human!
