Ticket To Ride Map Collection: Volume 2 – India & Switzerland presents two new maps. And with it, two new ways to play this modern classic!

Ticket To Ride is a Spiel des Jahres (Family Game of the Year Award) winner. The core gameplay of the base game remains present in India & Switzerland. Players aim to complete ticket cards between two cities on the map, by connecting routes. You connect routes in a set collection fashion, by paying same-colour train cards. On your turn you can do one action: get two more train cards, claim a route by paying cards, or taking on more tickets. Tickets pay out positive points if completed by the end of the game. They cost you the same but in minus points if you fail to complete them!

On the India side of the board (designed by Ian Vincent), 2-4 player compete to claim routes as normal. These tickets don’t offer mega-points – they only go up to 13. Instead, they offer points in a different way. If you can complete the ticket twice (such as going in a circle that includes both cities) you earn extra points. Do this on enough tickets and you could earn up to 40 extra points! It’ll make you look at the board in a whole different light…

Meanwhile, on the reverse, Switzerland is a map for 2-3 players. With the country landlocked in mid-Europe, it offers neighbouring countries as ticket destinations. Some tickets offer a choice of numerous city-to-country route on them, or even country-to-country route. Upon completion, you score the according points, depending on which route you completed. Do you risk it, or play safe for fewer points? The rainbow Locomotive cards have a specific use on the Swiss map, too. You can only spend them as tunnels – they’re no longer wild!

Ticket To Ride is the apple of Days of Wonder’s eye. This expansion lets you tweak the base game to send it chugging in two different directions! Please note that this Map Collection of India & Switzerland is an expansion. You need a copy of Ticket To Ride or Ticket To Ride: Europe to play this.
