Description
The third Expansion to Fantasy Flight Game's Eldritch Horror, Strange Remnants. This expansion delves deeper into the mind and writings of H.P Lovecraft adding more of everything you love to Eldritch Horror. Strange Remnants adds a new ancient one, new encounters, Investigators, Artefacts, assets, spells, unique assets, monsters, adventures and prelude cards.
Syzygy is the new ancient one added to the collection of Eldritch Horror, not so much a creature of flesh but a place in time and space that is inevitable, unlike other ancient ones up to this point, syzygy will 'awaken' when two of the three mysteries have been solved or when a certain number of eldritch tokens have been played. There is no stopping Syzgyg happening! Of course, Syzygy comes with its own set of mysteries to solve like plea at the court of Azathoth, or fortifying the barrier!
Joining the investigators in the fight are four new characters, Marie Lambeau the entertainer, "Skids" O'Toole the Ex-convict, Tony Morgan the bounty hunter and Zoe Samaras the Chef. Each bringing their own unique skills and abilities to the final days.
Not only do the investigators have the mystery of the mythos to solve, but they may also delve into the all new mystic ruins, spread across the globe, these encounters can provide powerful bonuses or costly disasters to the players! Along with the new assets, artefacts and spells the players will be able to use to help. But beware the glamour spells might just drive you insane, or worse.
As there are new investigators fighting the new ancient one it is only fair that there are new monsters to stop the investigators, the prowling werewolf and the might star vampire are but a couple of the new creatures that will ooze out of the shadowed darkness and into the light of the apocalypse.

The adventure of travelling the world awaits you! You and your fellow investigators will be faced with the world-wide expedition to learn the ancient secrets of the cursed and forgotten ruins. Your journey will take you across the world, over distant seas to find Moai Statues of Easter Islands, and through remote jungles to find the Great Wall of China. Leading you ever closer to the darkest corners of the world, it is only these strange remnants that will reveal the mysteries of the past and help you and your fellow investigators to solve the looming threat that the future has in hold.
Alongside these thrilling new adventures, the Strange Remnants expansion for Eldritch Horror also introduces four new well-rounded and unique investigators to join the expedition! From a shoot’em up bounty hunter to a god driven chef, the Strange Remnants expansion (designed by Nikki Valens) holds some of the best investigators that can fit the play style of any desire.
Strange Remnants Expansion
The highlight of the Strange Remnants expansion is the new deck of quest lines, the Mystic Runes, which follow a similar style to the expedition encounters of the base game, in the sense that these missions move around the map depending on which location the quest requires you to explore. Similarly to the artefacts found within the expedition encounters, the mystic rune quests rewards explorers with powerful assets and companions.
However, what sets apart the mystic runes quests the most from any other expansion are the unique story lines and objectives to uncover the curious wonders of the world in a hope to keep the ancient ones away and root out their earthly allies.
For example, suddenly, your ship is no longer sailing upon the ocean you once knew, and you find yourself within a sea of stars. Can you keep your composure and navigate your position within the celestial landscape? Or, will you lose your mind in the alien ocean and succumb to the terrors that lie in the depths of this strange cosmos? The rewards can be great, but the penalty for error is much greater.

Whilst the Strange Remnants expansion is no easy quest, even for an adept board game player, it still holds the familiar mechanics and characteristics of Eldritch Horror that are ceaselessly enjoyable.
