Magic the Gathering (MtG) is a collectable card game for 2 or more players. Each game represents a battle between powerful wizards known as Planeswalkers, who have the ability to travel the multiverse.
Players will cast spells, summon creatures and deploy artifacts to overcome their opponents. Typically, a player will win by reducing their opponents starting life points to zero, but there are other paths to victory.
To play the game, each player will need a deck of at least 60 cards. Players may use pre-constructed decks or customised decks created from their personal card collection.
Throne of Eldraine is the 82nd expansion for MtG, released on 4 October 2019. The set is comprised of 269 cards: 101 commons, 80 uncommons, 53 rares, 15 mythic rares, and 20 basic lands.
This expansion introduces a new gameplay mechanic – Adventure. It also introduces a new keyword ability – Adamant. Hybrid mana makes a return to MtG in this set. The set’s overall design has been heavily influenced by European fairytales and Arthurian legend. Players can expect to find an abundance of Knight and Faerie creatures, and unique spells that play on the theme.
Throne of Eldraine introduces showcase cards. Showcase cards have alternate art and have been designed to highlight the theme of the set.
This expansion can be played in isolation, or combined with cards from other expansions for more varied play.
A booster box will enable players to expand their collection quickly.
