Back in 2014, Ludonaute’s Colt Express was a huge hit, winning the Spiel des Jahres award. As a result, it’s earned itself some excellent expansions – and here’s another one of them! The Colt Express Bandits Expansions are a series of six separate mini expansions. Each one provides the means for the players to compete against an extra competitor for the train’s riches. This time, you’re playing against Tuco the red player…

Colt Express: Bandits – Tuco allows 2-5 players to shoot, loot, and program their route throughout a 3D train. It’s a classic American West train robbery, where players have asymmetrical powers. Only this time, Tuco isn’t one of the playable characters. He has other plans! He’s a rival bandit, like a bot, and he’s looking to claim those riches for himself.

To an extent, you need to work together with your fellow bandits to ensure Tuco doesn’t walk away with the prize. Can you imagine the shame if you all lose to a wooden meeple? But remember, there can only be one winner in Colt Express – and that’s the richest bandit!

Tuco and the Marshal have got history. They used to be pals, back in the day, but now they sit on different sides of the law. It sounds like Tuco’s got a grudge against Marshal Ford! In this Bandits: Tuco expansion, Tuco has his own deck of action cards. His Fire and Punch cards hit anyone (even Belle, who’s usually exempt). His Swap card switches Tuco’s position with the Marshal, which can have a big impact! Also, if players can manoeuvre the Marshal onto the same spot as Tuco, that player earns a prize: a $500 Wanted token.

In a final twist, Tuco’s loot works out at being worth $250 per bullet he’s shot over the game’s duration. Ignore Tuco at your peril! This expansion brings Tuco to life in a whole different way…
