Description

As a subterranean behemoth begins to stir, Eldritch Horror: Cities in Ruin brings terror across the globe, with cities crumbling to dust. The slumbering beast, Shudde M’ell, can not awake from his eternal rest, lest the world be brought to ruin. For those aware of the impending threat, it is vital for action to be taken to prevent global devastation. With a new ancient one to contend with in this expansion, investigators must tackle worldwide catastrophes that are condemning critical cities to rubble. As tactical locations are removed from the equation, will you bring aid to those in need or pursue the greater, looming threat? This new devastation system can now occur alongside any of the preexisting Ancient Ones, so expect the challenge to grow more intense when you engage in these daunting conquests. Fantasy Flight Games have also given us ‘Prelude Cards’, which can be used to shake up your playthroughs, by altering the game state before dice even start rolling. Of course, as with the other small box expansions, Cities in Ruin comes packed with a plethora of new cards to add variety to your existing decks, including 24 new ‘Mythos Cards’, 16 ‘Asset Cards’, 20 ‘Condition Cards’ and many more. Freshly introduced are ‘Unique Assets’, which are powerful cards granted as a result of specific encounters and sorely needed against the abundance of new threats. With plenty of new elements to get to grips with, Eldritch Horror: Cities in Ruin will greatly extend the replay-ability of the already excellent core game. Fair warning though, get ready for things to kick up a notch, because this expansion doesn't pull its punches. This makes it ideal for players that have already become confident facing off against these timeless horrors. If you haven't already got your hands on it, we recommend checking the Forsaken Lore Expansion, which will give you a bit more of event you've come to love and fear in Eldritch Horror. For those needing a little more, there are big box expansions, which include even more content, along with side boards to extend your playing area and allow you to explore strange new landscapes. Player Count: 1-8 Time: 120-240 Minutes Age: 14+
