STEVE JACKSON GAMES
Steve Jackson Games is a company founded in 1980 by Steve Jackson. The publisher creates role-playing, board and card games and the gaming magazine Pyramid.
Six years after the creation of Dungeons & Dungeons, role-playing games hadn't yet taken off and SJGames created several role-playing and strategy games with science fiction themes.
Steve Jackson Games borrowed and expanded upon ideas pioneered by strategy game companies such as Metagaming Concepts and Avalon Hill. SJGames early games were all microgames and were initally sold in 4x7 inch ziploc bags.

Steve Jackson games is well known for it's series of card games including Munchkin which has over 20 games to its name including Munchkin 4: The Need for Steed and Munchkin 7: Cheat with Both Hands.
Munchkin is a satirical card game based on the cliches and oddities of Dungeons & Dragons and other role-playing games. Each player starts at level 1 and the winner if the first player to reach level 10. Players can acquire familiar D&D style character classes during the game which determine to some extent the cards they can play.
In May 2010 Steve Jackson Games made an announcement that many rules and cards in the Munchkin series had been changed.
