WELCOME TO BLUE ORANGE GAMES

Blue Orange Games were founded in 2000 by Thierry Denoual and Julien Mayot. The first game of the company was called Gobblet, and was created by Denoual. Thanks to good local press coverage, the game sold out in San Francisco. Mayot would join forces with Denoual to sell the game nationally, taking a three month road trip across the US, visiting 500 stores with a jeep packed with 1,000 copies.

In 2013, Jactalea partnered with Blue Orange Games and changed their name to Blue Orange (EU). Some board games are released by both publishers, whilst others will be exclusive to the US or the EU decision of Blue Orange.

The company name comes from the Paul Eluard poem, "The Earth is Blue Like an Orange." Blue Orange Games run a tree planting campaign and are committed to environmental responsibility.

AN AWARD-WINNING PUBLISHER

Blue Orange Games have won plenty of awards, both as a business and for their board games. In 2011 they won the Learning Express Best Store Support Award, as well as the Vendor of the Year Toy Collection Award. The following year they would pick up the American Speciality Toy Retailing Association Excellence Award for Vendor of the Year.

Meanwhile, Kingdomino won the Spiel des Jahres Award in 2017, as well as the Gouden Ludo Best Family Game Award and the Gioco dell'Anno Award.

The follow-up, Queendomino, won the 2018 UKGE Best Expansion Judges Award. Photosynthesis also picked up the Golden Geek Award for Artwork and Presentation in 2017.
