Pokémon Trainer’s Toolkit 2022 Review

Pokémon Trainer’s Toolkit 2022 Review

The Pokémon Trainer's Toolkit 2022 has finally arrived! This fantastic box acts as a starter set for players hoping to get in to playing the Pokémon Trading Card Game competitively, and includes an impressive selection of Cards, pack and accessories to give your decks a boost. Let’s take a look at what comes inside...

A Closer Look

Like the previous Trainer Toolkits, the 2022 edition comes with two copies of a valuable Pokémon card that’s in high demand for competitive decks; this Toolkit includes Lumineon V, with an exclusive Promo art that you can only get from the Trainers Toolkit! Lumineon V’s ‘Luminous Sign’ Ability allows you to search your deck for any Supporter card you need and put it in your hand. Harking back to Tapu Lele-GX from the 2017 Guardians Rising expansion, we’ve seen this Ability before, and it’s strong every time. Lumineon V’s Aqua Return attack isn’t too shabby either, although it requires a Water Energy, so most decks probably won’t be able to utilise this attack - not that it matters with such a good Ability!

The Toolkit includes a bunch of useful Trainer cards, which every player needs to give their deck the competitive edge. You’ll get two copies of Supporters like Boss’s Orders (Cyrus), Marnie, Professor’s Research (Rowan), and Raihan – all cards that you see in the most competitive decks in the format. Additionally, the kit includes staple Item cards like Choice Belt, Escape Rope, Level Ball and Ultra Ball, which can be added to any decks to improve consistency. Also included are Special Energy like Double Turbo Energy and Fusion Strike Energy, and some powerful Stadiums; Path to the Peak and Collapsed Stadium, which can help disrupt even the most dominant strategies.

That’s not all! The Trainer Toolkit includes loads of goodies, making it a great purchase for competitive players and collectors alike. You’ll get four Pokémon TCG booster packs in the kit, giving you the chance to pull even more strong Pokémon card to add to your collection! To help you play the game you’ll also get a set of colourful dice and tokens, a pack of Energy, and 65 card sleeves to protect your deck. This box really includes everything you need to give you the leg up in your local Play! Pokémon League. The box from the Toolkit is even a great way to store your collection!

I’ve included many of the cards from the Trainer Toolkit in my own Pokémon deck, and I love the dice – I'll definitely be using them when I go to tournaments! You also get a code card for the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online, so I’ll be able to use the contents of this kit online too!

Pokémon Trainer’s Toolkit 2022 Contents

  • More than 50 useful cards to power up your decks, including dozens of Trainer cards, 6 Special Energy cards, and 2 copies of Lumineon V

  • A Deck Builder’s Guide
  • 6 damage-counter dice

The Pokémon Trainer’s Toolkit really is the best way to level up your game and help you compete with the top-level players.
