Meet The Zatu Games Team – Amber

MEET-THE-TEAM-MARCH

Here at Zatu Games, we all work hard to bring you the best possible games along with delivering exclusive content straight to your door. You know our board games and you know our video games, but you don't know the team behind them all! Every month I will be sitting down with a different member of staff so you can meet the Zatu Games team. From customer service to marketing, no meeple will be left unturned!

Monday the 8th of March marks International Women's Day. We are celebrating this across the blog all-day so this interview is no exception! Today I am talking to Amber, Zatu's Digital Content Executive. Amber runs the very board game blog that you're reading now, alongside yours truly. When she isn't hard at work editing blogs or hosting The Zatu Show alongside Arthur, Amber is leading our amazing group of Zatu Guest Bloggers. Stay tuned for some great board game and biscuit recommendations!

Name: Amber

Job Title: Digital Content Executive

Favourite Colour: Yellow/ Lilac (also nice as a combo, it's springtime and we love a pastel shade)

Favourite Food:  Lasagne for the win. Alex and I matching as always! (It’s an AM thing) We spend our lunch breaks critiquing the lunches of our colleagues. We’re quite the food connoisseurs, not to brag.

Favourite Biscuit: Now this is a big question in the Zatu blog community! I know I’m safe from backlash as long as I don’t say fig roll... (Don’t ask.) My king of the tin is the Chocolate Bourbon.

Favourite Movie: Catch Me If You Can

Favourite Character: Lightning McQueen, Kachow

Hobbies: I play a lot of squash. When I’m not editing blogs I can be found on the court!

What’s been your highlight working at Zatu?

I would have to say it's being the better half of the presenting team for our Zatu YouTube Show! It’s a really fun project. Other than that, it’d be going to game events and chatting to our guest bloggers. (Oh, and staff nights out!)

And what's your favourite game and why?

I like Blockbuster. My reasoning may be selfish but its because I’m good at it. Play to your strengths right? It’s a cracking ice breaker. It’s also easy to set up and will always get laughs going, what’s not to like?

What was the first video game that you played?

The first video game I played was Buzz Jungle Party in 2006. I was terrible as you need good reaction times and I was 6. However, as I grew up I really mastered the art of that one.

What is the last board game that you played?

The last board game I played was Sushi Go Party. The replayability is great on this one and the artwork is sweet.

Would you rather never be able to dunk a biscuit again or have every biscuit you dunk break off in the mug?

Cheers Beth. This is too much of a moral dilemma for a Monday, come on! I'm well practised in the art of biscuit dunking so a breakage is rare for me. But if it's inevitable, and I'd have gross soggy crumb coffee, I would have to never dunk again.

Be sure to check back next month to meet another member of the team here at Zatu! In the meantime, you can always keep up to date with everything going on at Zatu HQ over on Instagram @zatugames. Why not catch up on the rest of our Meet the Zatu Games Team series?
