VIDEO – First Impressions of Jaws: The Board Game

Jaws The Board Game - First Impressions

Jaws is the upcoming board game from Ravensburger and Prospero Hall. There is a lot of hype surrounding Jaws, especially since its initial release at Tabletop Gaming Live. We managed to bag ourselves a copy of the game, and we've been busy having a game or two.

Before The Honest Meeple shares his first impressions of Jaws, lets remind ourselves what the game is all about.

Jaws - The Board Game

Jaws: The Board Game has been labelled as a game of strategy and suspense. One player becomes the famous killer shark, whilst the others become members of the crew. The shark player wants to massacre as many people on the beech as possible, before hunting down the crew.

Meanwhile. the crew must first locate the shark and stick a tracker on him. Then, they must hunt the shark down and attempt to kill him by any means necessary. Those playing as the crew take on the roles of famous characters from the movie. The crew is made up of Brody, Hooper and Quint.

The game of Jaws is split into two acts. This is done through the double-sided game board and clearly replicates the film's story. Act One takes place on Amity Island, with Act Two taking place on The Orca.

The end game is simple. If the crew manage to kill the shark, they win. Meanwhile, if the shark successfully attacks The Orca, the great white is the winner of the game.

First Impressions

As previously mentioned, we were able to snag a few copies of Jaws from Tabletop Gaming Live. Tom has been able to have a game or two and you can find out what his initial thoughts are in the video below.

Coming Soon

Jaws: The Board Game is almost here! We're expecting stock to arrive at our warehouse next week. As soon as it does, we'll be adding it to our online store. This game wasn't available to pre-order, so it'll be first come first served was stock arrives.

Keep your eyes peeled on our blog as well. We expect to have an extensive written review any day now. In the meantime, take a closer look at the game's components in Nick's unboxing video. A video review will also be uploaded to our YouTube channel in the next two weeks.
