Clank! Legacy: Acquisitions Incorporated Revealed

Acquisitions Incorporated - Clank! Legacy Game Revealed

Clank! (by Dire Wolf Digital and Renegade Game Studio) sees you pitted against other players as you sneak into a dragon's lair. Your goal? Thievery, theft and stealing. A regular day's work, really. You develop a deck to enhance your cat burglar-esque abilities to give you more of an edge. The thing to watch out for? A misstep, misfooting or mistake, which will inevitably end up with an angry dragon teaching you a serious lesson in capital punishment. The game contains elements of player elimination, push your luck and, of course, card drafting. A jam-packed game with a big reputation.

So, imagine our excitement when Renegade announced that it will be released as a legacy game! Those misfootings and mistakes will now be permanent and the world around your is alive and evolving. How incredible!

Now, I know that legacy games don't appeal to everyone due to the whole "single time experience" aspect. No one wants to purchase a game with finite plays. Wouldn't it be great to have a permanent game you can keep playing? Well... Much like Betrayal Legacy, Acquisitions Incorporated will be fully playable when finished! This means the decisions you made during the legacy will be permanently imprinted on your own unique copy of Clank!

Acquisitions Incorporated - What We Know

Clank! Legacy: Acquisitions Incorporated is a brand-new legacy game releasing in September. It is for up to four players and plays over a series of 10 games.

Unlike its predecessor, the game has some co-operative elements within it. However, chances are that you'll still be wanting to come out on top! The game seems to take its legacy elements seriously though, including components to change the board permanently. It also includes over 300 cards, 140 cubes, 100 tokens along with tonnes more. This box is going to be absolutely jam packed with fantastic things to change your experience as you play!

The game has you posted in your own franchise of Acquisitions Incorporated, an adventuring company. Your aim? Move from a nobody to a somebody in the adventuring world. Climb the ladder! The only way to do that is to keep delving into the dangerous caves and taking on vampires, goblins, dragons and the likes. It's a hard job but somebody's got to do it!

You will engage in different tasks set out by the game in each round. As you progress, your adventurers will become more and more renown as the game goes on. The hope is that you will go from common thief to master burglar in the 10 engagements! But, like in all legacy games, both wins and fails affect the game. Although player elimination probably won't be permanent, negative obstacles will undeniably change the game and punish poor choices. No risk? No reward.

Initial Thoughts

Clank! and Clank! In! Space! create a big pair of shoes for any game to fill. Any adventure game is going to require a lot for players to ensure they get the full experience. Also, deck-builders require players to want to engage to do well. Being dismissive will cause poor choices and a bad experience.

Luckily, the game taking those boots to wear is one that looks incredibly promising. This has got us very excited! Clank! Legacy: Acquisitions Incorporated will still hopefully have Clank!’s charm and play style.

The appeal of the legacy element is covered by producing a fully playable game that players will help build. It will have their print on it and build memories surrounding it, making it more personal to them.

By having a game where your decisions are permanent and have risk, you'll be more engaged and wanting to succeed further. You've got to aim for the top of the adventuring ladder, even if that means standing on one or two co-adventurers along the way.
