7 WONDERS HISTORY
7 Wonders was created by Antoine Bauza in 2010 and was originally published in Belgium by Repos Production. Since it's launch, 7 Wonders has won a number of awards within the board game industry. Notable awards include the inaugural Kennerspiel des Jahres Connoisseurs' Award in 2011, the 2011 Deutscher Spiele Preis and the Golden Geek Awards for Best Family Board Game and Best Card Game.
The base game is still on the BoardGameGeek Top 100 Chart, currently in 43rd place. The two-player edition, Duel, is 13th on the same chart. Since the original release, there have been several expansions and spin-offs of 7 Wonders.
7 WONDERS COLLECTION
There have been several expansions released for the 7 Wonders base game since the global release in 2011. This began with the Leaders Expansion, which introduced the white-backed leader cards, which can be recruited to aid a player's city. Other expansions released include Cities, and the upcoming Armada game.
Alongside the base game expansions, a two-player spin-off was released in 2015. Known as Duel, this version of 7 Wonders sees two players going head-to-head to try and build the best and most magnificent city over the course of three ages. The Pantheon Expansion for Duel introduces the gods of five ancient Mediterranean cultures to the game.
